Controller
Location: Vernon, CA (Onsite, Monday-Friday)
Compensation: $140K-$160K
Employment Type: Direct Hire

A growing, established food processing and manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations and support continued business growth. This role is open due to a planned retirement and offers the opportunity to step into a stable, long-tenured team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities
  • Lead and mentor a team of 7 (AP, AR, payroll, and accounting)
  • Manage month-end, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Drive process improvements, with a focus on automation and documentation
  • Partner closely with ownership on financial insights and business decisions
  • Maintain and optimize ERP system (currently Syspro)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or food processing required
  • Strong background in process improvement and reporting automation
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong communication skills
  • Ability to assess existing processes before implementing changes
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office
